Checking-In/Updates

Greetings NEA-Jurupa family,

We’ve made it to Thanksgiving Break!!! I can’t thank you all enough for being truly awesome. Your insanely hard work and diligence during Distance Learning has been truly awe inspiring. Thank you for your constant empathy, grace, kindness, patience, and understanding.

Just wanted to share a few things with you before our absolutely needed nine days off!

RETURN TO SCHOOL SURVEY: Thank you to all of you who have already completed the survey! The more responses we have, the better! We are extending the survey closing date to November 30^th, in order to provide a little more time. Please use this link. You may or may not have heard that San Bernardino City Schools voted to remain in Distance Learning for the remainder of the school year. Although no “official” decisions have been made is JUSD, it is highly likely that we will be in Distance Learning well into 20-21. The Board meets again on December 14^th.

VIRTUAL PAINT AND SIP NIGHT: We are so excited to host this event on December 4^th from 4-6. There is still plenty of time to sign up through our EventBrite Link. The more, the merrier! If you plan on “bringing” someone else and purchasing supplies through Purple Easel, please let us know so we can provide you with that information. Details about paint colors are listed in the attached flyer, should you choose to have others participate.

To all of you who have already registered, please look for a separate email with details about how/when to pick up your materials.

UPCOMING CONFERENCES: CTA has several excellent conferences available for members to attend “from home” including: LGBTQ+ Issues, New Educator Weekend, 2021 Issues, and Good Teaching. Please check out this link for more information and to register.

Although this Thanksgiving may be very different for many of you, I hope that you are able to find time with family and friends, time for joy and laughter, time to rejuvenate and relax, and time to unplug and unwind. Again, that you for all that you do each and every day on behalf of your colleagues, staff, students, and the community at-large.
