Good morning NEA-Jurupa Family,
I hope this email finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy and that you’ve been able to get to some rest and relaxation.
There is still time to complete the survey sent out earlier this week by our Bargaining Chair, George Monge. If you haven’t had the opportunity to complete it or if you want to make sure your colleagues get a chance, here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/-school-reopening. The survey will close tomorrow evening, June 28th. We plan on using the results to assist with any and all negotiations related to the reopening of schools. Please feel free to email me or George with any additional comments/concerns. The Health and Safety of our members, students, and community will remain our number one priority.
The JUSD Reopening Committee will be meeting again on Monday, June 29th, to continue discussions and develop recommendations to the school board. You may also want to consider reaching out to our school board members, as there is still time before the board meets on Monday, July 6th. It is extremely important to hear from you, especially if you have reservations about returning given the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in Riverside County.
Additionally, we would like to know how secondary members feel about Advisory. Here is the link to the Advisory Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/_Advisory. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. This survey link will close on Sunday, July 5th.
For those of you who may not know, the State Legislature passed a “no-cuts” budget last week and have been negotiating with the Governor. Here is CTA’s Statement on the Budget.
