Checking-In/Updates

Greetings NEA-Jurupa Family,

I hope your week went well! Only six more weeks to go! Again, I can’t thank you enough for your continued grace, patience, and understanding this year.

We begin Week 3 on Monday. Blue Cohorts will be M/T and Orange Cohorts will be Th/F. Wishing you all well as we transition to 4 days of in-person instruction! You’ve got this!!!

There are a lot of questions coming up about the end of the school year and the next year, as information comes up, I will be sharing that with you.

For now, my apologies in advance for the long email.

District Updates and the Representative Council Notes: Please see attachments above. The District Updates document represents questions asked before and during Rep Council that have already been answered.

Negotiations: NEA-Jurupa’s Bargaining Team will begin meeting with the District in the next couple of weeks to negotiate on the 20-21 Initial Proposal. The proposal was approved last spring (2020) based on the Bargaining Survey. Because of the pandemic, the teams have not been able to officially negotiate for this year. For reference, we did settle for 19-20 (in Sept 2019) and got a 2% Salary Increase for last year. There is quite a bit of money that has come in this year and state revenues look very strong. More updates will come from NEA-Jurupa’s Bargaining Chair, George Monge. The initial proposals for both the Association and the District are attached above.

Report a COVID Concern at a California School: As California’s Governor Gavin Newsom has outlined in the Safe Schools for All Plan, this COVID-19 School Hotline is designed to provide a place for school staff and parents to share concerns related to schools. It is always recommended that prior to submitting a question or concern, leaders from your school administrator are contacted, to the extent possible, as in-person instruction protocols vary by county and will ultimately influence your concern or request.

Best to all of you and your loved ones. Please continue to stay safe and well!

In Unity-
