Thank You! We Made It!

Greetings NEA-Jurupa Family,

Congrats on making it through the most difficult school year we’ve ever encountered! Even with all of the challenges that we have dealt with this year, you have managed to find a way to continue to serve the students of JUSD at an exceptional level. No one knew when we shut down on March 13th, 2020 that we would be in crisis/pandemic mode for 15 ½ months. You found new and innovative ways of connecting and engaging with your students, you redesigned your curriculum and teaching methodologies and strategies, and you did this while managing your home lives and taking care of your families through this uncertainty. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! The continued compassion, empathy, grace, kindness, patience, and understanding you have shown this year is appreciated more than you will ever know. I continue to be in awe of our educators each and every day.

To our retirees, this is probably not how you wanted to finish up your careers in JUSD. THANK YOU for your years of service to the staff and students of Jurupa! You will be missed. Your colleagues and students will never forget the difference you’ve made in their lives. Wishing you nothing but happiness and wellness on your next adventure…

To our first and second year folks, I can’t even imagine what it must have been like for you. Barely getting to know your colleagues and students, trying to figure out how to do a new job, and yet you managed to do great things in spite of this! Kudos to you!

To our NEA-Jurupa Executive Board and Representative Council, your advocacy and dedication knows no bounds! You gave additional time and energy to represent the membership, continuing to fight the good fight. THANK YOU!

To our NEA-Jurupa Bargaining Team, you spent countless hours working on behalf of our membership, taking time away from all of your work responsibilities and spending several days out of your classrooms (including adding additional/extended negotiation dates/time), combing through contract language and analyzing financial documents, going to additional coordinated bargaining councils in order to reach a Tentative Agreement. Your commitment, diligence, and tireless work is greatly appreciated. YOU ROCK!!!

And a huge CONGRATS to our Seniors, who lost so much of the essential and special time with our educators and their classmates. They were able to make it with support from all of you!

PAR Panel Applications are due tomorrow by 3 p.m. I have attached the application for those of you who are interested. My apologies for not stating the deadline before. In my haste to send lots of information, I forgot to add that information.

I hope that you all have a wonderful and well-deserved summer break and that you are able to engage in the activities and experiences you’ve missed out on over the past year, to rejuvenate and relax, to unplug and unwind, and to truly enjoy your time off!

Best to you and your loved ones! Please continue to stay safe and well!

In Unity-

Wendy Eccles 🙂
